The mission of Clackamas Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) is to provide non-emergency, appointment-based primary care services to Clackamas County residents who are uninsured, underinsured, or don’t have access to health care. All services are provided by volunteer doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, lab techs and other caring community volunteers.
The organization hosts an Executive Director, Clinic Manager/Patient Care Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator in addition to an engaged and dedicated Board of Directors.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
The CVIM Medical Director ensures the overall supervision of the medical clinic, providers and records and assesses and assures the quality and scope of medical and other health services.
The Medical Director assists with the training and on-boarding of medical providers and is the recognized signature on behalf of the organization. The Medical Director is a liaison with community health systems and organizations that donate medical services to the clinic. He/she oversees Rx’s, critical labs and other reports and depending on availability, the Medical Director sees patients as needed.
This is a part-time, flex position, approximately eight hours per week, with the option of some hours fulfilled off-site. The position is currently staffed by a volunteer physician, however, this role may shift to a compensated position. Details to be negotiated with interested candidates.
- Current Licensed Physician (MD, DO) or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in leading teams, operations, and quality improvement
- Ability to mentor and coach; aptitude to serve as a role model
- Spanish Speaker desirable, but not required
