Giving Tuesday is a global movement of generosity to change communities. Here are some fast facts...
Giving Tuesday began in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation as a movement to do good in the community. Today it has grown into a global movement that has inspired hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. In 2018, more than $400 million was raised to support the work of nonprofit organizations across the world.
Why are we running our Giving Tuesday campaign on Facebook?
Facebook has offered nonprofits a fee-less platform to raise funds. Some organizations must pay credit card surcharges when processing donations. Facebook will forward 100% of the donations raised on its platform to the nonprofit.
Where is the match coming from?
Facebook has agreed to match donations on Giving Tuesday only—December 3, 2019—beginning at 5 am PST on a first-come, first-served basis until match funds reach $7 million dollars. If you’re interested in learning more about Facebook’s support of Giving Tuesday, click here.

WHAT WE DIDN’T KNOW WHEN THE CLINIC STARTED…
When our clinic began in 2012 many of its volunteers thought we were filling a temporary need within the County. Certainly when Dr. Arthur Cooper joined our volunteer physicians seven years ago, he did not anticipate more than 20,000 residents within his own county were critically under-insured, or un-insured.
